A Taste of Triplanz: Port Washington, WI

Port Washington – a touch of New England charm in a friendly lakeside village.
Explore the city’s beauty and history on the shore of Lake Michigan, just 30 miles north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Port Washington’s downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, with the largest collection of pre-Civil War buildings in the state. Visit the specialty shops – foodies will love the micro-winery, old fashioned meat market, family owned fish smokehouse, gourmet popcorn store or yummy chocolate shop. Also try any of the great restaurants with cuisines ranging from gourmet to sandwiches.
Enjoy walking tours of the historic district and harbor, past the two lighthouses. Climb the steps to the Historic 1860 Lightstation, or walk the breakwall to the famous art deco lighthouse. Along the Harborwalk, you will be able to view exhibits commemorating shipwrecks off of the Port Washington coast.

Play outside - try your luck on a charter fishing excursion, or play golf on any one of the great courses in the area. Bring or rent a bike and hop on the county-wide Interurban Trail that goes right through downtown. Stay in one of the lovely hotels or charming B & B’s. You may just have to go back again to see and do it all! It will feel like a seaside getaway, but just a short drive from home.
